Or, is this just wishful thinking, on my part.

(24,455 posts)The smart ones already bailed. The true believers are in the cross hairs. The GOP has morphed to the OCP - Organized Crime Party. Rat out or enjoy your future accommodations.

(14,959 posts)Simply because of the 6-year vs 2-year cycles. Any House GOPer who was gonna resign to avoid dealing with this mess did so already. The post-census apportioning and subsequent redistricting won't kick in until 2022 election.
But only 1/3 of the Senators were faced with that choice in 2018. The Senate will be faced with some tough choices to make over the course of the next 2 years which will certainly factor in to GOPers' (up in 2020) decision to retire or not.

I will even predict Slimy Mitch McConnell announces his retirement. The Russia Gate is going to take tons of Rethugs out.

His Dem opponent, Ammar Campa-Najjar, lost by only 3.5% percent this election. I expect he will run again when it's an open seat. This conservative district apparently is no longer a slam-dunk for Republicans.
