HW cynically nominated Thomas, with a v mediocre history, to replace this giant. HW gambled that dems could not risk voting against a black man.

IIRC HW is on record somewhere admitting to or plotting with cronies to 'trap' dems into having to vote for Thomas.

1. He was a bad president.

He did almost nothing for the working class and was very political and conniving in promoting his party and the rich, especially how he backstabbed Carter. I do not like any of the Bushes. They are and were however not nearly as dangerous as drumpf who is actively trying to destroy us for Russia's and his own benefit.
