They hate the notion of an independent judicial system.

But there are those in Israel fighting the good fight for the rule of law. Just like here.

It is up to the Israeli Attorney General. Last February there was a recommendation which has not been acted on. The police chief making the recommendation left office on November 30th and made the recommendation on his final day. He is a political opponent to Netanyahu.

I thought it seemed fishy that Netanyahu was so pro-Trump even before the orange asshole won the election.
Who's pulling his strings, I wonder?

He made the recommendation as a parting shot on his last day in office. Police recommendations to indict have no standing in Israel. It is up to the Israeli Attorney General. The Police chief made a similar recommendation last February that has not been acted on.

I can never forgive him for weaseling around behind President Obama’s back, and the State Department’s back to engineer Netanyahu’s speech to a joint session of Congress.
1) Without bothering to inform the White House or arrange it with the White House, and
2) Without bothering to inform the State Department about it.

It was a total snub of the President in favor of Netanyahu and his right-wing pals in Congress. To their credit, many Democrats refused to attend. Not all of them, though.

It was a fucking STUNT. I’ve resented Netanyahu and his devious back-room rat, Ron Dermer, The Israeli Ambassador to the United States, who was the advance man in this scam. I’ve never forgotten that. So THIS is how you treat the leader of the nation known worldwide as Israel’s best friend? I can’t ever forget how they disrespected President Obama in such a shameful public slap in the face. An EPIC disgrace.
