@StevenBeschloss
Think how many Republicans are now wondering why they went all in with Trump. When he finally goes down, when the mountain of lies & crimes makes his exit unavoidable, plenty of Republicans will desperately try to justify why they enabled this.

And may the name Trump/Russia or Putin's Trump be the only way he is referred to when calling out the Republicans.

(30,735 posts)Nixon went down. I was amazed at how many repiggies, in politics and out, had never heard of Tricky Dick and had not voted for him.
We have social media now and it will be harder to do that if/when trump goes down.

(6,831 posts)There's money in them thar tell-alls, just a'waitin' to be made. As greed/ego-driven as some of these people are, I doubt we'll have to wait ten years to start reading about the scandals. Besides some people will want to get out front of the others if or no other reason than to exonerate themselves.
This could get to be fun. Dueling publish wars.

(10,828 posts)Never.
Because we nearly lost the Republic through this treachery. Anyone supporting the Trumpster, enabling him now is guilty of selling the country down the river.
For money, for power, for whatever.
Never forget! Hold these suckers accountable.

(22,976 posts)As much as I respect Steven Beschloss, I'm it's no surprise that Republicans have slipped into full-blown fascism much quicker and with a far better fit than O.J. had with the bloody glove.

(10,869 posts)This is the bullshit they will give us. They know that a good 30% of their "base" will believe it. Yes, the selling out of generations, the debt those children will be saddled with, the deadly weapons they will have to endure, the overwhelming cost of health care, the gerrymandered voting districts, the worldwide loss of trust in our country, the total loss of morals in our State Department and DOE and Finance. Shall I go on?
Yes, this is the cost of giving the GOP a shot at leadership in this country. Everyone in the US needs to decide if this was worth it. Well? If you voted for the GOP are you still proud of that?

(11,885 posts)For selling US out to putin and trump, next time we may not be able to survive as a Democracy, because it'll be worse. These corrupt treasonous criminals have to be made an example of for what they've done to our country, especially trump and his family. The Republican party will suffer from this for decades, and the American people will not forget , or forgive all those involved.
