decency and civility - qualities that Tiny lacks completely. Not that this will make Tiny any more decorous, decent or civil - those are qualities he considers to be signs of weakness - but it's bound to piss him off.

There will be plenty of time later to apply an objective critique to GHWB's legacy and personality.

In the current instance I despise Trump with the heat of a thousand suns.

If they admire Bush's dignity, how can they admire Trump? The GOP has staked out an extreme position in defending their strong man Trump who "says it like it is." Really? In that case, why the praise for Bush's attributes that are the opposite of Trump?

They are morally bankrupt. They believe in.... nothing.

Of course I never voted for him or even considered it but I never held him in contempt the way I hold Trump. I was in DC in July of 1990 to see Paul McCartney at RFK Stadium. I passed the White House when visiting sites. I don't remember thinking I really hate the guy who lives there.

He didn't do anything particularly memorable or great- but at least he didn't do anything awful either. He also wasn't a doofus like his son, nor a ignorant/naive/ultra-corrupt nightmare like Trump was. I know that most of my progressive friends don't really have anything nice to say about him and have pointed out some negative things about him (Willie Horton ads during the 1988 campaign and nomination of Clarence Thomas probably being the absolute worst things I can think of), but I harbor no particular animus for GHWB, certainly not like with GWB or Trump.
