Beckel was on FauxNews with Ed Rollins and host Jon Scott. After Rollins gave the usual right wing assessment of things basically saying that Romney-Ryan will beat Obama-Biden in November, Beckel made the comment that since Biden used the word "Chains" this week, it was a gaffe that made Romney take the week.
I think Beckel has been on FauxNews too long, he's beginning to crack!!

(2,424 posts)It is like referencing the National Enquirer.
It is like reading the Enquirer headline;
"Trapped boy eats own foot".
The folks that follow Fox get reinforcement to support their hatred for anything that is not like "them."
GOP politicians know those lemmings are their base so they have to play along with the talking points......until the general election. Then they have to play the crazy game of "distancing". Walking a tightrope of not alienating the extreme, Hannity inspired "base" while appealing to the general population. It is why you are constantly viewing a "flip flop" reality show. It is why you see a never ending dispute on right wing blogs and message boards. There is an internal struggle in the GOP that frequently bubbles up to the surface for all to see.
The GOP is in constant "distancing" mode. Distance from GW Bush. Distance from Sarah Palin. Distance from philospophical authors that inspire you. Distance from welcoming stimulus funds into your district. Distance from Ryan's budget.
They are in constant "run away" mode and it is going to kill them up and down the ballot.
All because they cater to the likes of Limbaugh and Hannity. The two folks that, in the long run, would give them the most benefit with respect to "distancing".
