If Trump resigns I would not support a deal where he doesn't face any charges

Or where the investigation into the Russian collusion in the 2016 election is not continued and made public. I think if he resigns he will try to get this deal. The truth is, if he gets that deal, Pence is free and clear as is turtleman and Ryan.

Nobody can "turn off" a criminal procedure by saying, "I'm just going to retire quietly and you'll drop everything, 'kay?" Trump's way out would be Nixon-style -- securing a promise of a pardon from Pence the way Nixon did from Ford. He would definitely try that, and Pence would probably do it -- and pay a huge price for it. He'd have to pardon Trump -- and his family -- not only for the specifics that Mueller is investigating, but for basically everything he's done in the past and will do in the future. He's hardly done anything that doesn't have a criminal component.

I don't think we will get true justice. Perhaps over time. There are a lot of people who helped create this.
