FEBRUARY 26, 2018,
NASA posted this video to YouTube with this description, Arctic sea ice has not only been shrinking in surface area in recent years, its becoming younger and thinner as well. In this animation, where the ice cover almost looks gelatinous as it pulses through the seasons, cryospheric scientist Dr. Walt Meier of NASA Goddard Space Flight Center describes how the sea ice has undergone fundamental changes during the era of satellite measurements.
2017 was once again one of the hottest years on record, ranked as the second-warmest by NASA and third-warmest by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

(23,094 posts)2. Thanks, this is fascinating to see.
I have heard so much about the loss of ice, but this shows more of the history and how it looks now compared to 40 years ago. I don't see how anyone could watch this and think we don't have a problem with climate change, but then I'm not a idiot repug so just don't understand their stupidity and going thru life with ones' eyes closed.
