Trump uses tax payer dollars to take motorcade a few hundred feet across the street instead of walking

https://www.rawstory.com/2018/12/trump-uses-tax-payer-dollars-take-motorcade-hundred-feet-across-street-instead-walking/

President Donald Trump was scheduled to visit with the family of George H.W. Bush at Blair House across the street from the White House.

Protocol dictates that the family of a fallen president can stay at Blaire House, the residence made available for dignitaries and incoming presidents. So, the Bush family is staying in the home while they await the elder Bush’s funeral at the Washington National Cathedral Wednesday.

Instead of walking across the street to Blaire House, however, Trump decided to use taxpayer dollars to take the motorcade.

Jennifer Jacobs, White House reporter for Bloomberg News, posted a photo of the readying motorcade and the news that Trump didn’t want to walk.

When a president wants to walk to a nearby location like this, generally the Secret Service blocks off Pennsylvania Avenue to tourists and protesters to allow for the short jaunt.

We know he's not capable of dragging his fat orange ass farther than a few yards, but what's wrong with a golf cart? Was it raining?

How did the motorcade cost taxpayers anything. Would the drivers and secret service folks not be paid today otherwise? Okay, it cost some gas money. But the fact that secret service accompany a president in a motorcade doesn't cost the taxpayers any more than if those secret service agents accompanied a president when he walks somewhere.

I criticized these faux cost the taxpayers arguments when they were made to tear down Obama. To be consistent, I'm criticizing this one.

it really points out what a lazy slob he is. It's less than a half block's walk - not much more than the distance from one end of the WH to the other. It's not even raining or windy in DC, so I suppose President Blubberbutt just didn't want to make the effort to waddle across the street.

he is physically unable to handle walking very much. But considering the way he and his minions slammed Hillary about her health and stamina, this is just karma.

It could have been a Secret Service call.

I'm not one to withhold criticism of 45, but there are plenty of other things to focus on. This isn't a big deal

I don't see a problem with this really.

Far more important things to criticize him for than him taking a motorcade to Blair House.

It was a nice day, and he got his Secret Service detail and hoofed it, stopping to amaze and delight a few dazzled tourists along the way. It make a difference when you're a people person.
