(86,536 posts)I kind of forgot about Kuschner. That's going to upset the czarina and that's going to upset daddy and that's going to be a problem.

(86,536 posts)Erik seems to fly under the radar and maybe he's more of an operative than we give him credit for. It has to be one of them.

31/ Here's the key: Mueller wasn't really asking for Flynn to do time, so he had no *reason* to reveal anything really significant herethat is, he didn't have to *convince* the judge of anything by writing about all the bad things Flynn did or told him/his team that others did.
Mueller might have had to reveal more if he wanted to press for more of a jail sentence.
Maybe Mueller figured it wasn't worth it since he's after bigger fish.
That redacted stuff probably has Trump going darn near crazy trying to figure out what they've got on him ...

(7,845 posts)that should scare the hell out of trump and his legal team...the lighter sentence recommendation means he's spewing like a geyser and what he's spewing is valuable and it's spilling over into other ongoing investigations...this is ok...doesn't make for screaming headlines but it's obvious mueller has no intentions of showing his hand and giving the orange maggot and his unholy minions any twitter ammunition...good for mueller

(53,342 posts)This is interesting.
Check out the signatories on the Flynn memo.
Robert Mueller
Brandon Van Grack
Zainab Ahmad
Interesting names and potentially a clue to what Flynn was helping with...
1/
Brandon Van Grack is a prosecutor specializing in national security.
He has a background in counter-espionage (read: cases involving spying on U.S. entities).
His highest profile case: prosecuting a hacker who aided ISIS.

To probe alleged Russian interference in the 2016 election, the special counsel has essentially built his own miniature Justice Department. Meet the experts hes recruited.

2/
Zainab Ahmad is also a prosecutor with expertise in international and extranational cases (i.e. crimes abroad).
She is an absolute badass with a long track record of bringing terrorists to justice.
This profile is a good read.
Taking Down Terrorists in Court
Zainab Ahmad has prosecuted thirteen international terrorist suspects for the American government. She hasnt lost yet.

3/
Ahmad has deep experience working with our intelligence operations and with other countries to gather evidence, apprehend suspects and prosecute criminals.
Think: making cases where the bad people are somewhere else.
4/
Lets pull these together...
What case is Mueller working on that involves:
1) Hostile foreign actors
2) Spying on U.S. entities
3) Hacking
4) Connections to the Trump Campaign
The one that comes to mind for me is..........
5/
The entire conspiracy to hack and weaponize DNC emails.
Russia <-> WikiLeaks <-> The Trump Campaign
Flynn got pinched for lying about calls with Russian contacts.
6/
Nineteen meetings is a lot of get-togethers to talk about a couple phone calls.
When the prosecutors across the table specialize in espionage, intelligence, hacking, covert multinational plots and rogue foreign actors, theyre talking about something bigger:
Conspiracy.
7/
Mueller has already put cases in the courts to prove the Russian hacking piece.
He has a sealed indictment of Assange to prove the weaponizing of that hacked data.
I think Flynn just gave him the last mile:
Proof of the Trump Camps end of the bargain.
The quid pro quo.
8/
Russia hacked.
WikiLeaks distributed.
Trump was supposed to pay that bill by lifting Russian sanctions.
Id guess Flynn delivered that last piece in spades.
Tied the whole thing together with a nice bow.
9/
If thats the case, all there is left for Mueller to do is take down all the confederates and supporting actors.
Stone, Corsi, Junior, et al.
Originally, I thought Flynn was likely to be of little value. Now I think he may be a star witness.
He saw the deal go down.
10/10
Note: One loose end to bear in mind...
Zainab Ahmad is deepest in terrorism with roots in the Middle East.
Not at all out of the realm of possibility that all of the above is true AND theres also a case involving Saudi as well.
