Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsWould Mueller have turned over the Flynn memo to Rosenstein or Whitaker, the new AG?
It has been reported that Rosenstein is still in charge of the investigation.
But, with all the redacted material in the memo, Donald Trump will want to know what is in it? He may demand that Whitaker give him a copy?
Now that the memo has been dropped, the questions are: What is in it?
There seems to be a cat and mouse game being played by Mueller and Trump.
One thing we can probably bet on, if Matt Whitaker received the full memo, Trump has already read it. If so, he will not hesitate to comment on it.

(3,769 posts)It's likely Whittaker has seen unredacted version. If he's shared it with Individual #1 is a chance at an obstruction charge.

(19,972 posts)asked who would get a copy of the unredacted version. They came up with the judge and Flynn's lawyers but didn't go beyond that.

(7,142 posts)If Whitaker wants to see the unredacted version he is entitled to see it, there has been no notice that he has recused himself. MSNBC had qualified guests on, former prosecutors, former federal judges, who were qualified to answer questions. The CNN panel was bush League.
Far too often, the "experts" don't know much more than the viewers.
Sorry for the early morning snark, but there it is.

(383 posts)Whittaker is in shit up to his eyeballs and knows it. He doesn't want or need any more problems. I don't believe Mueller could hold a gun to Whittaker's head and make him read to un-redacted pre-sentence report on Flynn. I'm guessing Mueller and his staff has read to Riot Act Whittaker, along with letting him know what's in store if he misbehaves. Of course, I could be full of it.

(10,252 posts)He realizes that everything that he does will be highly scrutinized by the Dems in Congress. He has what he wants, so why engage in obvious obstruction that will only result in a heep of big trouble? It's easier, and safer, to just let Rosenberg be on the hot seat. Given that his job is only temporary, he conned Trump into appointing him, play it safe and screw Trump.
