Are Mueller's redactions from the Flynn memo really that important?

The take I've seen and read is that Flynn provided substantial help to Mueller in 3 investigations that were redacted from the memo. But since Whitaker is going to see the memo and therefore Trump will also know what is in it, would Mueller really put truly sensitive stuff in it that Trump might use to plan his defenses?

I think Mueller would limit the info in the redactions to just enough so that the trial judge can go along with his recommendations for no jail time for Flynn. There would be no reason for Mueller to add more than that if he wasn't going to make everything public to lay out his case. Therefore, I think what Flynn gave Mueller is probably much more than even the redacted material and that even the redacted info is not detailed enough to be of any use to Trump.

Just my speculation, but I think he is going to do the same thing with Manafort and Cohen. He isn't done yet.

If the material is sufficient to support the recommendation then, yes, you are correct, the memo need not be comprehensive.

But then they realize there is nothing in it they don't already know. Enough to scare them silly but nothing to help them scheme.

If Mueller is as sharp as he seems to be proving himself to be we may have to make room on Mt Rushmore for him.

They know from Manafort's case and the joint defenses what Trump has been up to in the background - trying to find out about the investigation. He now has Whittaker in place.

It is entirely possible that there are words redacted that are intended to entice them to try to scramble to cover something else up ... and they're sitting back watching and waiting for them to do so.

They may also have planted stuff in the DOJ's files to trap Whittaker - to prove he's leaking to Trump.

Wouldn't surprise me. These are not stupid people.
