Nobody knows how the White House plans to respond to the Mueller reportincluding the people who work at the White House.
The special counsel is reportedly nearing the end of his probe. Sentencing memos are dropping. Plea deals are being struck. The presidents legal team expects a response to his written interview soon.
When the report will hit is the question. That it will hit, and that it will contain at least some new problems for President Donald Trump and those close to himespecially as House Democrats take the majorityseem certain.
But while most organizations, political or otherwise, might take the time to prepare for this kind of slow-moving train, the Trump White House is all but winging it. According to a half-dozen current and former White House officials, the administration has no plans in place for responding to the special counsels findingssave for expecting a Twitter spree.
The one thing they do know, Rudy Giuliani told me, is that theyre going to fight.

(31,106 posts)must have justice otherwise the country will not survive.
Do people understand when someone comes to your front door and illegally takes your ballot under false pretenses or an outgoing group of politicians change ALL the rules so the other party cant govern, that this is EXACTLY THE SAME as Hitler invading Europe or Japan bombing Pearl?
Do people understand WHY we fought those wars? Yes, I know, no actual bloodshed so you cant compare these events, but we must compare them because in the end they will be the same.

(5,518 posts)This is exactly the plan: muddy the water, accuse the accuser, rally your base, bluster about what is legal, etc.
The tweets are the lynch pin but will be supported by FOX, web sites, pundits, etc.
It will work right up until the time FOX decides to cut and run. At some point, they will start to hedge their bets. When they turn on him, it will be over. I believe they will turn on him. Not because of any kind of patriotism or journalism. It will be an act of self preservation when they see how bad it is going to get.

As with everything Trump does. There isn't a grand strategy, he just flies by the seat of his very large pants.
