(6,373 posts)Politicians have a certain amount of cents that they're worth, and you can buy or sell them and win or lose money depending on if they win/lose nominations, elections ,etc.
Typically, the more expensive it is to pick a candidate, it's because they're more likely to win.

I love a Beto-Kamala ticket. I understand the argument that she was a senator and he was a congressperson but his talents are wasted as a vice presidential running mate. Lyndon Johnson had a hell of a lot more experience than John Kennedy but the latter was a great campaigner.
