Mattis: Investigation into killing of Khashoggi is ongoing

Defense Secretary James Mattis on Thursday said the administration is looking for more information regarding the murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi, whose killing has been linked to the country's crown prince, Mohammed bin Salman.

“We are continuing to review. I am quite satisfied we will find more evidence of what happened,” Mattis told reporters Wednesday en route to Canada.

“I just don't know yet what it's going to be or who's going to be implicated, but we will follow it as far as we can,” he said according to a Pentagon transcript released Thursday.

Mattis's latest comments come as lawmakers slam the administration for failing to acknowledge proof that they say leaves little doubt of the crown prince’s involvement.

I thought the Emperor Trump was satisfied that nothing untoward has happened to Mr. Khashoggi at all. In fact, he's probably sunning himself on the Riviera, like those winners on "The Running Man."

There is no way that a person with a free conscience can make a statement like the one he did about MBS with the known compendium of evidence, just as there is no way that an informed person of free conscience can support Trumpy in any way. Trumpy is completely without conscience and is lawless. How Mattis can stand to be in the same federal branch as Trumpy is astounding.

One of the missions that Trumpy's had, I'd guess, while he's the chief executive, is to gather dirt (kompromat) on every person who has weight in his administration. Kelly is compromised. Mattis is compromised. Pompeo is compromised (for certain). So is Ross (for certain). Anyone having anything to do with Russia in h/h past is compromised. I'm sure that all of these underlings also have compromising material on Trumpy, but are wagering that he's still too thickly laden with Teflon to suffer from their disclosures. So they stay on and/or shut up.

Who do you think is lying? The original poster? The Hill? Mattis? The person to whom you responded was summarizing an article from The Hill. Who is lying, in your opinion?

‘With an ongoing investigation it would be premature’.

Expect it from the turtle tomorrow.
