Wonder how much Cohen was facing otherwise.

And wonder if Mueller will recommend a Flynn like light sentence for what Cohen pled to regarding his charges.

Cohen did a lot of bad stuff for Trump. No way could he expect to get off scot-free. (Or Scott Free). But he could certainly be facing a lot more without the plea.

Remember Mueller pointed out that Flynn started cooperating right away. Maybe Cohen resisted and denied until they collected enough evidence that he was overwhelmed.

I'm just speculating.

They're saying he could have done better if he'd fully cooperated, which helps. Expect rage from Trump, I guess. This is hardly "the book."

Ah, so he can cooperate post-sentence and get "further credit." If Mueller wants, of course.

rat his wife out to SDNY. That's what someone was saying...that he refused to totally let it all out about every single individual who he knows is dirty.

Interesting to me....Cohen most afraid of US mob. Manafort...Russian mob. Worst than US prison. The mob can and will kill people you love in horrible ways.

thinking of it as maybe just a follower to his leader, but perhaps it was, in part, a different manifestation of his ability to be loyal and caring toward his family. Whatever. Even knowing Trump himself was an habitual criminal, I didn't imagine his presidency playing out as a strange national reality TV series featuring the kind of sleazy goof-ups in expensive clothes who flocked to him and it. Yuck.

A very powerful force - his whole family probably duped by him. I can just imagine them saying - you keep us safe and out of this mess or we will all disown you. Perhaps they didn’t know the extent of his sleezbaggyness?

Which begs the question to me - he was getting millions for selling influence with IQ45 - why did he have to borrow money?

Maybe I have the timing off. So many moving pieces. Like we need a timeline for each person and then show what events cause intersection

Just like trump is mental - he had to find people who were mental in a different way - people with low self esteem who needed approval - followers.
