White collar crimes are not taken seriously.

The damage is not as obvious or dramatic as violent crimes. But the damage to our institutions is huge, especially when the punishments are so light.

5 years is a very light sentence.

Editing to add: If Trump is not locked up for life, it will send a very bad message.

Personally, I still don't think he'll go to prison. house arrest is the best we can hope for. a pence pardon is more likely.

But remaining life expectancy for him is probably only 8 years. I think 5 years in the joint would do him in.
