Man, the summer of 1974 made me crazy! You knew something big was going to happen but what and when were tantalizingly out of reach.

And then, suddenly, it was over. The country moved on in a relatively orderly manner.

4. I was at the beach at Ocean City, Maryland...

In June, 1973.

My mom rounded up the kids for a week in a motel room, glued to the TV, and sending us all out to entertain ourselves which, in 1973 in Ocean City, was the most awesome thing to do.

I remember it wa specifically John Dean because I can recall him saying “My mind is not a tape recorder” and getting sucked into huge chunks of his testimony. Because even if you don’t understand the whole thing, running around Washington at night with bags of money is pretty interesting.
