Unless this changes, this is catastrophic and remember the Democratic Rep who said a speaker showdown on the first day means we kiss our new majority goodbye? Whats the end game here and desired outcome here? I can only assume its to give Trump complete control of the judiciary, executive, and legislative branches come 2021.

I'd be curious to know what throwing control of the house to someone its Republicans helped choose would do to the careers of those Democrats who did that, but we'll never get a chance to find out.
And we can't guess from the past because it never happened then either.

(3,259 posts)The run at her from the right didnt work out well last time. I still think its fair to at least have a debate about who will hold one of the most powerful political positions in the country.

Many agree that a change could be a good thing but only with the right person.
To just demand change without any specifics is suicidal.

(3,259 posts)I see it as more politics as usual. I do think it's a bad move without a name leading the way. I like Pelosi in the position.
There was at least a name last time around. Ryan has been talked about again. Few want to see a shift to the right in our party.
