For those of us down in the shit, though, another 25 months of this criminal nonsense is a life-and-death proposition.

Getting rid of Trump is one thing. Getting rid of the Trump regime is another thing entirely.

Trump is their figurehead, but he isn't running this show. He's just the clown out there entertaining his audience while his pals are doing the real work while the spotlight is off them. Trump doesn't have the attention span to have a policy, a doctrine, or even a political philosophy other than he's always right, and anyone who says different is on a witch hunt out to get him.

We have to rid ourselves not only of Trump, but of Pence, his cabinet, McTurtle, Grassley and the whole corrupt cabal that has inserted themselves into our government like a fatal virus. Get rid only of Trump and you get Ayatollah Pence, who will be little more than Trump with a cross, a Torquemada complex and an attention span.

10. We'll be waiting quite awhile if we wait for Mueller to get everything perfect, the House

to investigate, the House to impeach, the Senate to hold hearings and actual trial, etc.

Point is, unless Senate heavy hitters put pressure on trump to resign, it will be a long time before trump is removed.

… start the House investigations in January. When results and reports are done, from Mueller and/or the House, begin the Impeachment process. That's not rushing, in my view.

13. A majority of Americans have said that Trumpism is a mistake already.

That is what the Blue Wave was about. There will ALWAYS be a minority of people who will support a candidate like Trump. They are ignorant, racist, and authoritarian. The majority of people want a President who can solve problems within the framework of the American Government. The majority chose that candidate in 2016, Hillary Clinton.

There isn't any majority of people who support Trump. The reason people are not calling for his immediate removal is that it is not within the American politic to simply remove high office holders, even if they are a disaster. Most people are disengaged and are just trying to survive.

That said, I am curious as to what Dionne means by "rush". That is what I am see a lot. "Don't rush" I the podcast person isn't really making that great an argument either. It is an appeal to emotion. The podcaster has NO idea what the founding fathers would do. Adams signed the Sedition Acts and there was a great uproar and claims or Tyranny, but Adams was not removed. Jackson almost destroyed the economy in his term but there weren't any impeachment proceedings.

I think that when the evidence from the Mueller case is in, it will be clear that Trump committed impeachable offenses and it will be difficult to escape the need to move forward. However, we have a good idea, but really don't know what the evidence is right now.

I don't think that the Democrats need to become belligerent and start thumping their chest and screaming impeachment from Day 1 either.

Let Mueller do his job, fully and completely.

Given how much time Mueller has spent on this investigation, I think we can all agree that what has been disclosed thus far is probably the tip of a massive iceberg.

Trying to nail Trump now is akin to a DA wanting to charge a Mafia boss with littering, when there is evidence being gathered that he's guilty of far more serious crimes.

In addition to the obvious - being a full disclosure of Trump & Co's crimes - the specific details of those crimes being revealed to the public will not only strengthen the legal cases against them, but will serve to sway public opinion against them as well.

Again, why act now - when what will undoubtedly be revealed in the months to come will be far more devastating than what has been exposed to date?

When all is said and done, Trump paying off his mistresses and not disclosing the ongoing "Moscow Project"
might very well look like a failure to pay outstanding parking tickets when compared to what will eventually be fully disclosed.

The Republicans have moved into the post-democracy phase of their downward spiral. There is no "long game" with them. Their electoral strategies no longer involve winning a majority of Americans. Either we seize every opportunity we have to break them, or we sit back as they do that to us.

refuse to convict. (or whatever it is they would do for the first time)

Nixon was convinced to step down when key Republicans, who previously supported him, told him he was going down if he didn't resign. Clinton found his approval rose after he escaped conviction.

The last thing we want is a Trump coming out of this claiming victory.

Things may be moving slowly, but they are moving. Even in two more years, Trump can't do much more damage than he already has.

The tide is turning against him.

Don't fight the tide, wait for it to turn.
