White House: Trump Supports Businesses Posting 'No Gays' Signs

Bigotry in the name of “religious freedom” – President Trump supports businesses posting anti-gay signs stating they will not serve LGBT customers.

When asked during yesterday’s White House press briefing, White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders told reporters the president has no problem with businesses displaying anti-gay signs.

---snip---

The lawyer for the solicitor general’s office for the administration said today in the Supreme Court if it would be legal, possible for a baker to put a sign in his window saying we don’t bake cakes for gay weddings. Does the president agree that that would be ok?

Sanders answered:

The president certainly supports religious liberty and that’s something he talked about during the campaign and has upheld since taking office.

When asked if that included support for signs that deny service to gay people, Sanders replied:

I believe that would include that.

This ASSHOLE is poison. Absolute poison. If he had lived in Germany c.1933, is there any doubt as to what he’d be doing, with all of it state-sanctioned?

The problem some Dems have is thinking this is just Donald Trump.

This is not just Donald Trump.

This is Millions of Americans that feel this way. This is the Fox News Audience that feel this way. After Trump there will be others just like him that do the same things.

Trump is a product of the Conservative Religious Right pushed by Fox News, etc

Nor do I understand why any Baker would turn down any business. It's a really bad idea. Not only do they lose money on the cake but once word gets out, other people will not buy from them. All for what? It seems to me these people are attention seeking assholes.

If I went into a bakery (I'm a straight white male) and saw a sign that said no gay wedding cakes, I would leave.

senior citizen. My nephew is gay. He is 100% more intelligent than any tRump, and much better looking. Anyone refusing service to him would get my ire up. Mikey Pence is a bigot who also supports these signs.

Or triple K. They are doing just fine. Bigotry sells when bigotry is encouraged and promoted by governments. It keeps the masses from attacking the real danger......the kings of capitalism.

Soon we will be having straight and gay water fountains.

Why do you think separate but equal lasted so long? Why was racism so prevalent in 1930? Because governments supported it, encouraged it, and it became almost patriotic to be a bigot. The businesses of racists in the early to mid 1900s were rarely hurt.

The free market will never resolve social ills but it will make profit off them.

But boycotts are a good start.

I was criticized for calling Pence a Dominionist but he certainly is one in his words and actions. Pretty scary isn't it that "Gods chosen ones" can do no wrong. Even the Mormon Romney believes in the White Horse Prophesy which is similar to the Dominionists.

and probably the scariest thing about them is that they're convinced that they are right about everything. They think the Bible is the absolute word of God, and if you disagree with them, you're disagreeing with God. Their churches are the perfect crucible for creating single-minded soldiers for God who are certain they are carrying out His wishes. And they're always looking for ways to increase their power politically.
