What is wrong with us, Democrats (real Democrats)?

A recent polls by MoveOn puts Sanders in fourth place, after don't know, O'Rourke, and Biden.

As I have recently posted: a visitor from abroad, in the 80s, asked me: with 300 million people the best you could do is Reagan?

With so many capable and dedicated Democrats the best some can do is to select Sanders who is not a Democrat, never been a Democrat and actively campaigned against Democratic candidates?

Someone else/DK/other: 28.8 percent

Beto O’Rourke: 15.6 percent

Joe Biden: 14.9 percent

Bernie Sanders: 13.1 percent

Kamala Harris: 10 percent

Elizabeth Warren: 6.4 percent

Sherrod Brown: 2.9 percent

Amy Klobuchar: 2.8 percent

Michael Bloomberg: 2.7 percent

Cory Booker: 2.6 percent

1. Looks like a lot of pretty good choices to me. I'd take any of them over what we've got right now.

"Don't Know" leading is entirely appropriate for this early in the cycle.

They've done studies on IQ and leadership and found that leaders tend to have higher IQs than average, but people with very high IQs often did not become leaders. They postulated that if you have too high a IQ, average people don't understand you, making you less likely to be chosen for a leadership role.

Along the same lines, they estimated that the average IQ of US Presidents is lower than that of UK Prime Ministers. The reason is that Presidents are chosen by average people but PMs are chosen by their peers, who are already elected leaders themselves.

And that's why we had Reagan when they had Thatcher, and we had Bush II when they had Blair.

and, yes, Gore, were high achievers with high IQ. And proud of it.

I think that Bush 1 was high achiever with high IQ - but he knew that he had to hide it.

And a wider group on the "left", prefer white males. I really don't think it is an assumption too far. I could go into more detail here about how clear that is with respect to a certain persons core support but it is beyond clear for anyone honestly looking and only causes division.
