Election's over so SHITLER's taking down the barbed wire at the border, whopping 130 miles of it

We know, but the coinky dink of the dates when it was strung and when it's being taken down should be obvious even to SHITLER's Deplorables. But they don't seem to notice when he claims that the wall he claims is *built* is non-existent. They don't seem to notice much of anything.

Tense atmosphere at the border as active-duty troops install coils of razor wire

At the border, some want to know when the military will retrieve its barbed wire
November 28

.... They welded the wire to 20-foot fences in Arizona, strung it on the sunny beaches of San Diego, and tied some to the fences in Brownsville, Tex., that separate the winding Rio Grande from parking lots for stores like Ross and Dollar General.

Now, nearly a month into the Trump administration’s deployment of thousands of service members to the southern border, some residents are beginning to wonder: What will happen to all of that wire?

Soldiers and Marines unfurled the razor-tipped steel coils at the request of U.S. Customs and Border Protection to “harden” ports of entry as caravans of migrants made their way north. The agency said it was concerned that large groups of migrants might rush the border at once. ....

“There are women and children, and they’re out there putting up that sharp wire,” said Judge Ramon Garcia, the chief administrative officer in Hidalgo County, Tex., which passed a resolution opposing “permanent” militarization of the border. “I don’t believe that’s going to stop anybody, and it sends a horrible message to our neighbors to the south.” ....

More than 150 miles of concertina were available to be strung at the outset of the operation, said Air Force Gen. Terrence O’Shaughnessy, who has led the deployment as the chief of U.S. Northern Command. It’s unclear exactly how much of it has been used, but certainly dozens of miles. Northcom said in a tweet last week that U.S. troops had strung more than 20 miles of wire in just the previous few days. ....

Razor wire quietly taken down in Laredo, but border wall looms large
Friday, December 7, 2018

.... Eight miles of fencing is in the process of being put up in Starr County. Next on the Department of Homeland Security's list is Zapata County, and they're lined up to get very little, (Henry) Cuellar (Blue Dog Dem, Laredo TX) said. There are plans for mile or so of fencing to go up in California and Arizona too. ....

DHS has plans to tackle Webb County in two phases, constructing a total of about 130 miles of fencing along almost its entire border. ....

House Democrats, meanwhile, were starting negotiations at $0, Cuellar said.

"As Members of Congress who represent constituents who live and work along the U.S. southern border, we write to express our alarm and opposition to your comments that $1.6 billion for a physical wall along the border is the starting negotiation position for Democrats," the letter to Schumer reads. "Any appropriations for a border wall would have unequivocally deleterious economic, diplomatic, and environment effects on the region. ....

Schumer called Cuellar demanding that he retract the statement, according to a report by Politico. Cuellar did not do so.

Schumer and other Senate Democrats argued that the media was misconstruing this $1.6 billion starting point, that it was meant to fund border security, not a wall. ....

for someone to remember the utility of a simple grappling hook. Throw, launch, or fire it into the wire, then winch it in across the border for scrap. It's tough enough to possibly gather a few hundred yards at a time, duty free.
