I think that's a lot more real to Manafort than anyone else, because he worked with these guys for years and knows what they are capable of.

I don't feel sorry for the guy, but I do understand the impulse to protect loved ones, regardless.

Since a narcissist thinks the world is in orbit around him, that person thinks others would be honored to go to prison to protect him. Loyalty.
