Republicans in Congress Think Google Works Like This:
1. You type something into Google you want to know about, like maybe your name.
2. A wealthy personal assistant, paid by the Democratic Party, looks it up for you, and types out a results page, but only after checking the current list of priorities and political agendas.
3. You click on the first thing you see.
4. You get all angry and shit.

The problem is that too many Republicans have gotten very, very wealthy by cutting wages and cheating on their taxes, etc. And this excess blood-wealth has begun to buy elections via Citizens United, gerrymandering, etc.
Our goal, as members of DU, should not just involve raging at the news we feature, but to stand up for a better America. We ALLOWED the uncivilized Reagan-Bush-Trump crime modality to emerge precisely when the country had begun to do well economically and attain some token legislation on civil rights and the environment. We fell asleep at the wheel. We got lazy. We even began to capitulate to the Wall Street crooks.
We must, and will, do better. If Republicans cry “elitist liberals” I say own the label. Tell them “Thank you, I refuse to live in the moral gutter and ruin our planet.”
