Russia, Saudi Arabia, hush money, the inaugural, taxes, condos, university and the entire 30 years of dirty dealing, cheating, lying, stealing, the blood on their hands, the stealing of children from their families, all of it and... being the bottom of the bottom of the bottom to quote Deutsch. And now it's all beginning to crumble around them. The long arm is bending towards justice and karma is walking up the pathway to make a long overdue knock on the door.
Happy Holidays...rest up because the New Year is going to be a doozy.

(12,448 posts)He wanted to use a presidential campaign as a boost to his " brand" until Russia stepped in and showed him how he could actually win. They may have actually blackmailed him into working with them to win the presidency. Or appealed to his bloated vanity, or both.
I truly believe he's losing any sense of reality he may have once had. He's in denial, but part of him must know he's going down.

(1,020 posts)The 2016 election was a license for him to steal, and while they were leaving a trail of evidence, it wasn't a large trail and the stuff forensic auditors could legally turn up (and thus be used in court) wasn't all that damning - *while da GOP had all three* (Pres, House n Senate.) But when the 2018 shtupping ... er, I mean, election gave us da House, that's when they knew they were toast.
Typically, people with enough smarts, good attorneys, and wise, true friends will choose to do something legal but only available to the wealthy and powerful, so as to cut down their competition. If they get caught doing something wrong that is minor, they have great odds for being able to get away with it with only a slap on the wrist(s) and a manageable fine negotiated through their powerful connections.
However, the Grifters and Oligarchs party chose to take money and commit non-trivial crimes, which requires that they *keep* all three until the relevant statues of limitations wear out. Having lost the House and with the House having subpoena power, the only thing Cheetolini can do is redact and destroy evidence that will eventually be uncovered. And golly gee, dat's a crime, too.
So my very minor feedback about you noting the worst day of his life: yes, you are correct, and it was that way for about 2 years. Then that day was superceded by 2018/11/08.
And when ya look at it the right way, it appears like one big path that, once started, ya can't get off. Like joining a gang. License to steal? Here ya go, but don't do it, or you're headed down a path of criminality that doesn't end until you get caught. So once you start, you're guaranteed to lose.
And why bothah? It's quite easy for a Stable Genius to make money these days. Why bothah running a grifter gang? How much fscking money do you need?
Sheesh, what a loser.

(51,550 posts)We've been watching this blatant, rampant, in-your-face Trump corruption and wondering how the fuck he and his sycophant Republicans were getting away with it.
Now that the law is finally catching up with them, we have hope that the rule of law will prevail. We have hope that there will be a better tomorrow. That is getting us in a festive mood.

What we must do is make real, permanent changes to the constitution. We need to make it so that criminal presidents can be indicted and jailed. We need to get the Fairness Doctrine back, eliminate corporations donating to politicians and campaigns, etc. Finally, we must really punish Putin and make sure that he and other dictators are held accountable, etc. Putin committed cyber warfare and that is a form of war (2016 version). Hillary even said so during her book tour.

(37,648 posts)So they thought, same ol' same ol', when it came to continuing their corruption in the White House. Instead of the awe of being able to influence the world and country in a good way, make human existence better, help people and the country...instead they saw more opportunities to make money from corruption! More power! More political contacts and power to use for personal gain!
The hubris of it all. They weren't afraid of getting caught, or if caught, that anyone would dare hold them accountable for their corruption and TREASON.
Trump really should be in prison. Really.

(5,106 posts)Was it Trump's unfounded accusations about the Clinton Foundation (his usual projection, as HIS foundation was the one in trouble). Or was it the e-mails? For as much as he used that term (Crooked H), he usually just brought/brings up "her server."

(25,472 posts)"When I finally challenged Bernie during a debate to name a single time I changed positions or a vote because of a financial contribution, he couldn't come up with anything. Nonetheless, his attacks caused lasting damage, making it harder to unify progressives in the general election and paving the way for Trump's 'Crooked Hillary' campaign."
Trump first used the term 'Crooked Hillary' on April 12, 2016.
