She reserved her harshest words for the media, her husband's favorite punching bag. The biggest challenge she faces as first lady, she said, is from "comedians to journalists to performers, book writers."
Really? Is her family's legacy the thing that worries her most? After all the pain she has witnessed as first lady, from meeting with a survivor of the Parkland, Florida, high school shooting to visiting with children separated from their parents at the border, has the media really been the most difficult part of her job?
If so, that is a big problem.
When Hannity asked if the criticism "hurt" her, she said, "It doesn't hurt. The problem is they're writing history and it's not correct."

(28,797 posts)Is that why Drunk History is our most accurate source of history?

(33,232 posts)Nearly every other "history" or "science" show does. Pretty pictures, re-enactments, little actual detailed information.
They're aimed at children, not adults.

(10,178 posts)She does what first ladies do-----show up occasionally .
They aren't elected, they just come with the POTUS.

(63,221 posts)enable her disaster of a husband. Other first ladies have founded and supported causes and worked hard to bring visibility to them. Melania is all talk and no action. She has a unique opportunity to do something good for the country and she thinks only of herself and her grifting, bullying husband.
I suppose she does a lovely job with the White House Christmas decorations though.

(8,851 posts)It's starting to seem as though every other week she's talking about the "greatest challenge" or "biggest difficulty" or some unprecedented ordeal she faces as First Lady.

I used to kind of root for her to escape him. No longer.
Her trip to Africa was a chance to wear cool outfits, nothing more. She's empty.

(10,279 posts)commitment to the success of her husband. But, she did not rise to the level of good works of Evita Peron, who was a talented actress. Melania's skills apparently are confined to the bedroom.

How much you want to bet after this whole "president" thing is over she will divorce him in a newYooork second... I mean the truth is out there..

(10,279 posts)That would be fair, considering Leona "queen of mean" stayed with Harry Hemsley until he died.

(47,238 posts)and most, if not all were far better people than Melania. They learned early on to tune it out or they would go nuts. Meanwhile, Melania would be better off finding a legitimate cause, one that doesn't involve her personal feelings. The interview with Hannity just gave the comedians and journalists more material to work with and Melania more reason to be outraged.
If she doesn't like the inevitable coverage, she should just confine herself to the White House residence until Trump's administration is over.

Little more grace and humility might help you, Malaria.
As the current First Lady did model,
I really dont care. Do you?

(47,238 posts)took far more abuse than Melania did and she learned to tune it out with grace and charm. As first lady, Hillary Clinton was treated very poorly on a regular basis. She went on to be a senator and Secretary of State, not to mention won the popular vote in a presidential election.
Melania is starting to sound as whiny as her big baby husband. What has she ever done to make the world a better place?
