Whoever ends up taking this job is shouting to the world that they are a corrupt asshole AND an arrogant moron.

1) Trump can not easily fire him or even distance himself from Kushner's actions.
2) Looking at where investigations are going -- it is hard to believe that Kushner is not in danger of indictment.
3) How can he continue to be the point person with both MBS and BiBi AND CoS.

From Kelly, they should see that any idea that they could benefit the country by moderating the President is not realistic. (ignore that Kelly was as bigotted as Trump) They also know that they will themselves be managed to Ivanka and Jared while they attempt to create some order in the chaos that is the Trump administration. Not to mention, assuming partisan RW Republicans -- there likely ability to do much on taxes or the economy have disappeared with the midterms. The scary thing is that Trump can do foreign policy things.

So, it will be a very tough, tortuous job with little chance of success. Looking at others forced out of Trump's administration, he (she) will be trashed before or after leaving on twitter. Not to mention, he or she better take out insurance in case they need a lawyer ... something that almost certainly will happen.

but maybe that's just a "norm" law rather than something that would actually be enforced.

if you're not a mobster, you won't last inside the mob.

so this is not a problem for him. The problem will be when Jared is indicted, when he'll claim he barely knew the guy and never wanted Ivanka to marry him (or anyone else).

The question if whether an unpaid senior advisor can be the CoS. Obviously, it is not a good idea and should be illegal.

I'm reminded of the scene in The Blues Brothers when they are driving around with the loudspeaker on top of the car....."You! On the motorcycle!"

And again deleting clarifying earlier post, right statement this time - Christie was not offered the job, took himself out of running.

T-rump had not offered him anything before and Chris was supposedly very hurt/disappointed when not asked to join the cabinet.
I wonder if he strung 45 along in an effort to get even.
