4. I would be surprised if the SC lets the ruling stand

It's a flawed for one and also I believe members of the SC realize that the political repurcussions would likely mean the end of the GOP as a Party in the elections that are little more than a year away. Of course, Alito and Thomas would dissent.

My backup theory is that they will let the ruling stand and try to make legislating a new health-care program an issue for the 2020 election, painting the Dems as obstructionist.
