Laurence Tribe Retweeted Adam Schiff
If the evidence bears this out as now seems likely, it will form part of an impeachable pattern of corrupt deception that helped a hostile foreign power catapult a compromised moron into the U.S. presidency. @RepAdamSchiff @RepJerryNadler @RepSwalwell @RepRaskin @SenatorDurbin

At the same time candidate Trump publicly urged sanctions relief for Russia, he was privately putting together a business deal in Moscow that required lifting US sanctions. Then President Trump and his confederates misled the country about it, in a way that left him compromised.

* And that removal must include Pence, Neil Gorsuch, and Brett Kavanaugh too.
Trump and the republicans worked with a hostile foreign power, Russia,
in what was nothing less then an act of war to rig our elections and
steal the right to vote and have that voted counted from the American
people.

The bait.
Trump will try every trick in the book to rattle Schiff and throw him off guard. None of it will stick. Schiff won't take the bait.
This is going to be a whole new experience for Trump. Hope he enjoys his 16 days at Mar-a-Lago. Everything changes in January.

(10,842 posts)Let's take the individual parts of that statement and examine them.
"Hostile foreign power"
That would be Russia. Yes, they are hostile. Everyone in the world agrees with that except DFT. He has spent his entire political career mansplaining whe Putin is our friend. His base has heard that life so many times that they believe it. The GOP and their monied friends like the Koch bros and the NRA are in lock step with this lie.
"compromised"
That is becoming more evident with each passing day. The evidence is so strong that the GOP has stopped trying to deny it. They just state that they don't care.
"moron"
Remember when he said he was a "stable genius"? He doesn't say that any more. The laughter in the media has overwhelmed his ability to credify that description. If you want to understand how his tiny little mind works, read Bob Woodwards book "Fear" - his miniscule attention span will appall you.
"catapulted"
If the Cheeto Tweeter had ever held another elected office of any kind prior to being elected pResident, we would have seen what an unstable toddler he truly is. He never paid his dues to get to the White House, and it shows. We must never allow anyone to repeat this - not even Beto. The rigors of public service are a true show of character and we must see a consistency of character before we put another in to the highest office in the land.
onetexan
(13,023 posts)best not to equate an excellent public servant as Beto to such a highly corrupt, morally bankrupt character as this Idiot.
RainCaster
(10,842 posts)Everyone needs to pay their dues. Without a record of public service, what can we judge someone by? Think of the others pushed into high office- like Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.
onetexan
(13,023 posts)are opportunists, and i agree with you there. Arnold sought the CA governorship. Nobody pushed him to run. Trump did the same.
Beto, on the other hand, has already served in the the House and has a good record. His past run for office means he's gone through the gauntlet of background checks and has the experience to prove his worth.

(33,259 posts)Remember there are huge swaths of citizens who have little clue about the reality of this historic situation. They either consume Fox propaganda or they receive information via Fox cultists repuking the Repuke propaganda.
Televised hearings will educate the electorate. That, IMO, is one of the most important things the Democratic party can do between now and 2020 -- educate the electorate who have been deliberately misinformed.
Then, indict, try, convict, and lock them up!
