They conspired with and provided material comfort to an enemy of the United States and during a time of digital and communication warfare that was every bit as serious as the Cold War.

They betrayed the nation in seeking to secure money for themselves and power for daddy....now they should all (2 scoops, 1/2 scoop, tall fool, botox cautionary tale and ice princess) be tried, convicted and hung as punishment for TREASON.

I volunteer to open the trap doors so no one else need be traumatized. I'll do my best to eke by...

It's almost certainly treason as defined in the Constitution, but the punishment is left for Congress to determine. Congress did that, but limited it to "hostilities" "subject to the laws of war". That's within their power.

Trump tossing around the word "treason" at everyone who disagrees with him or doesn't bow to him is a good illustration of why it's defined in the Constitution. Treason is not a thought crime.

If you were a prosecutor, would you try bringing charges you know will likely take decades to decide, or would you go for those on the books with many precedents and with much higher likelihood of obtaining convictions?

Treason makes an interesting discussion until it gets emotional. People don't seem to want to discuss it for long in the abstract.

"As there is no crime which can more excite and agitate the passions of men than treason, no charge demands more from the tribunal before which it is made a deliberate and temperate inquiry. Whether this inquiry be directed to the fact or to the law, none can be more solemn, none more important to the citizen or to the government; none can more affect the safety of both. . . . It is therefore more safe, as well as more consonant to the principles of our constitution, that the crime of treason should not be extended by construction to doubtful cases, and that crimes not clearly within the constitutional definition should receive such punishment as the legislature in its wisdom may provide."

I think it's a word people should take more care in how it's used.

I'd rather have charges that will have a high chance of conviction and certain sentencing than to levy treason since it's such a lightning rod of a word.

Still, I hope the judge put the fear of gawd into Flynn if nothing else.

I have fear that this will turn out like Fitzmas—just a big nothing. I have a sinking feeling that nothing will come of this investigation except a bunch of lower level convictions. Unless Trump and his family go down hard, I'm going to be disappointed.

Or same old ones recycled - George P., Manafort, Mueller, Cohne etc. etc.

I would really like to see some other people start to take the hits. IE Erik Prince (Seychelles meeting), Don Jr., Erick, Jarvanka.

Like - until that happens - I kind of don't care.

I have faith in Mueller.

I do not place any faith in reports on what Mr. Mueller is doing. There simply are no leaks from his team. And it would be odd if some defense team member(s) leaked this.

I think the press and well - the liberal/progressive community is trying to rush something along - that just can't be rushed.

Mueller is a man of integrity - let's give him the time and wait and see where this all ends up.

I keep reminding myself - he was integral to the take down of Gotti.

He made a Faustian deal with Sammy the Bull to make it happen.

Patience.
