Chris Matthews: Trump Jr, Ivanka 'stand as the next dominoes to fall'

MSNBC host Chris Matthews said Monday that President Trump's children, Donald Trump Jr. and Ivanka Trump, could be "the next dominoes to fall" in special counsel Robert Mueller's ongoing investigation.

"The president's children stand right in the line of Mueller's investigative progress," Matthews said on "Hardball." "They stand as the next dominoes to fall."

"Therein lies the problem, where earlier Mueller subjects have given [President]Trump up, these two lack the option to do that. They can hardly testify against their father," he continued. "If the prosecutor will not be stopped and the kids will not fall to him, we see the president's adult children heading to prison."

Matthews suggested that Mueller could strike a deal where Ivanka Trump and Donald Trump Jr. could walk if President Trump does the same.

"But what if the prosecutor were to offer the president an alternative," he said. "What if he were to say he would let the children walk if the old man does the same? That would mean giving up the presidency in exchange for acquittals all around ― not just for himself, but for all his kids."

1. No deals! The crimes are numerous and serious, involve national security.

Mueller has them by the short hairs, with a huge number of crimes (and that is based only on what we know now) that go far beyond those committed by Nixon, et al. Trump and crew conspired with an enemy against the US, and that is only the tip of the iceberg. Exposing Trump and crew and cleansing our system are too important and make a deal unsupportable.
