There’s a good reason for that. Because that’s the way they operate. In such a manner that earns high regard. According to Charitywatch.org the last time I looked at it. During the campaign I decided to check for myself. Lots of crap was being spewed about how they kept 90% of what they raised.

Almost the exact opposite is true. The independent Charitywatch.com checked them out and found that they kept approximately 11 percent of what they raised, for administrative purposes. The accusations that those fucking republi-CONS we’re trying to smear them with was UPSIDE DOWN. Maybe they were thinking of how trump does “business”?

is that the Clinton Foundation has done a lot of good worldwide, and the RW attacks on the Foundation based on BS led to a drop in donations, at least in 2016. I hope they've rebounded since that time, but I have not heard anything either way.

I think we can all safely assume that "Helping People Around The World" isn't it.

I remember Bill Clinton 13 years ago talking about encouraging ideas, any ideas, how to improve the lives of people who lived in misery. One eye doctor came to him and said he noticed how many thousands upon thousands of used eyeglasses were just thrown away when their owners needed new prescriptions. The eye doctor suggested to Clinton that instead, they gather up as many "used" glasses as they could, send them to India, and let penniless people try them and keep anything that improved their eyesight. It didn't have to be an exact prescription fit, but if it meant people suddenly being able to see street signs or avoid collisions on the street, or see children playing in fields in the distance, or whatever, it was well worth doing, so they did.

Now imagine Trump even encouraging, much less getting involved with, anything of the sort. (I can't either)

I remember him talking about or (was it an expo?) about this soccer ball someone had invented. Go outside and play with for 30 minutes (exercise) and it provided enough power to run a low end laptop for an hour or so. Third world kids could be connected to the world.

WaPo from 2016....

Another Trump shoe drops
By Jennifer Rubin, Opinion writer
September 20, 2016

Link: https://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/right-turn/wp/2016/09/20/another-trump-shoe-drops/?utm_term=.a63742428706

(snip)

Donald Trump spent more than a quarter-million dollars from his charitable foundation to settle lawsuits that involved the billionaire’s for-profit businesses, according to interviews and a review of legal documents.

Those cases, which together used $258,000 from Trump’s charity, were among four newly documented expenditures in which Trump may have violated laws against “self-dealing” — which prohibit nonprofit leaders from using charity money to benefit themselves or their businesses.

For anyone having paid access to WaPo, put the term "Trump Foundation expenditures" into their search window and it gives dozens of results to help clarify the extent of their fraud.

We've never had a perfect union. And I don't think one can ever exist.

We're also subject to internal and external forces that don't care about internal governance such as local/state/federal elections, etc.

It would be nice to think that we can clean up their mess for 20-50 years, but in another 100-200? Who knows.
