Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez needs a break.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez announces 'self-care' break before congressional session even starts.

The 29-year-old progressive champion encouraged her followers to share their self-care regimens and followed up the post with a string of Instagram messages about how she had to give up her Zen lifestyle when she launched her congressional bid.
“Before the campaign, I used to practice yoga 3-4x/week, eat nutritiously, read and write for leisure,” Ocasio-Cortez wrote. “As soon as everything kicked up, that all went out the window. I went from doing yoga and making wild rice and salmon dinners to eating fast food for dinner and falling asleep in my jeans and makeup.”
Ocasio-Cortez — who unseated longtime Queens Rep. Joe Crowley in a stunning primary upset that made national headlines — vowed to not pretend to be something she’s not as she officially starts representing New York’s 14th congressional district on Jan. 3.

She's so young and already burning out? Tired? I thoughts that's why we wanted younger folks?

had a life change like she has, as she talked about in the article, you would know it has nothing to do with age. She's not burning out but nice try. She is starting a difficult job, it's not like she's a Social Media Manager.

Why not just go do what you want. Making these kinds of embellishments don’t really add up.

Going from eating health to fast food would be a hell of an adjustment.

It isn't like 3/4 of the business world checks out (mentally at the very least) from Thanksgiving to New Years anyway.

I know this might be unpopular to say, but I think she might very well flame out. She is making enemies among fellow democrats and seems to have an issue with respecting other points of view within the Democratic Party.

She has to learn to listen as well as assert. I think with perspective and judge, ent, she can be a leader. But it will take some maturity.

As for the article, I guess the NY Daily News needs to get the clicks like everybody else.

and admittedly tired of life. My body is deteriorating rapidly. Yet I still practice meditation and vegetarianism.

Why should a young woman be exhausted? I was just getting started at 29.

She needs to buck up.

In my neck of the woods we just lost a gay rights activist who didn't do that. He wasn't even 40 yet.
