House GOP releases transcript of explosive closed-door Comey questioning
House Republicans on Tuesday released a transcript of their explosive closed-door session a day earlier with fired FBI Director James Comey, who'd defiantly called the questioning "frustrating" and "more of the same."
The 173-page transcript, which documents congressional Republicans' second hearing with Comey this month, included Comey's explanation of why he broke normal protocol by sending two FBI agents into the White House to interview ex-National Security Adviser Michael Flynn in January 2017.
"The agents went to interview Flynn to try and understand why the National Security Advisor was making false statements to the Vice President of the United States about his interactions with the Russians during the transition," Comey said, responding to a question from House Oversight Committee chair Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-S.C.
Comey added: "I knew certain classified facts about the nature of [Flynn's] interactions with the Russians" prior to sending the agents into the White House. "I knew that the Vice President was making statements that he attributed to conversations he'd had with Mr. Flynn that were starkly at odds with those classified facts."

To bad the Repukes didn't have the balls to have an open hearing.
