NY State Senator Tweets 'Kill Yourself' To GOP Staffer Who Called Him Out

New York State Sen. Kevin Parker (D-Brooklyn) found himself in hot water on Tuesday for telling a Twitter user to “kill” herself after she called him out for allegedly misusing his official parking placard.

Candice Giove, deputy communications director for New York state Senate’s Republican majority, had identified Parker as the owner of the placard featured in a tweet complaining about a parked car that was blocking the bike lane.

“The placard is assigned to [Parker],” Giove tweeted. “However, the license plate # on the placard does not match the vehicle. So he either used it in another car or gave it to someone to use, both of which are not permitted.”

The tweet apparently sent Parker into a rage, prompting him to reply, “Kill yourself!” an hour later.

But let's all focus our attention on innocuous, momentary losses of temper on Twitter instead.

Did someone actually die as a result of what Walker wrote? Wishing someone dead on Twitter and actually killing them through policy, as the Orange Fool is doing right now, are two entirely different things.

People ARE dying at the border, right?

But that is just my opinion.

I also don't think that Trump's border policy is related to this incident one way or the other.

If it had been a Republican state senator who tweeted "kill yourself"
to a Twitter user he would have been royally ripped a new one here with the suggestion that he resign. But what do I read here? Oh he was just stupid and then excuses being made for his doing it.
Unacceptable. I expect Republicans to behave this way, not Democrats, but I can't say I was surprised at what I read here.

Just ask anyone who has lost a loved one or friend to suicide and they will tell you how they feel about an elected politician casually suggesting that someone should kill themselves. Yes, the tongue too often is faster than the brain but that applies to people and not just members of one political party or the other.

If it's a Republican, then they're absolutely scum automatically with just an accusation but if it's a Democrat then it's, "well, we better wait until we have all the facts" or "she's exaggerating, it's a hit job" or "well, it was a consensual relationship".
Wrong things are done by people and not exclusively by one party or the other. We should be just as quick and severe in calling out our own for wrongdoing as we are Republicans.
