I think Trumps focus right now is on delivering to Putin lifting certain sanctions, pulling out of Syria, etc. I think well see a lot more of this in the days to come.
Perhaps its starting to sink into Spankys brain that its all falling apart, and hes cornered. He knows Mueller has the goods no small thanks to the trusted friends who turned on him.
Because he is, of course, a Dotard, Im sure he believes that when hes booted out of office (by whatever means), he can pick up where he left off with the Moscow Project a potential source of hundreds of millions in future revenue.
Therefore, every benefit he sends Putins way before hes finally ousted will (he believes) be acknowledged in future with gratitude i.e. a signed contract to build Trump Tower Moscow.
Again, because he is a Dotard, what Trump is too simple-minded to realize is that (a) Putin knows hes an idiot, (b) his self-made, successful business genius persona has been publicly exposed as bullshit, and (c) the Trump name will soon be so toxic, it would be like naming a 5-Star restaurant The Ptomaine Palace.
Proving to Putin that hes willing to give him his hearts desires in exchange for future business deals is now, IMHO, Individual 1s agenda item Number 1.

(51,560 posts)I was thinking that he is crazier than I thought, knowing he is under Mueller's microscope you would think he would lay low and stay clean. But since he is a crazy narcissist he probably thinks he is untouchable, even when he no longer is POTUS.

(27,813 posts)And he usually doesn't - except when it comes to his own survival.
I'm sure he believes that if he is impeached or forced to resign, it's of no great consequence in the great scheme of things. He'll just put his own spin on it, just as he's always done, while convincing the other guys in the boardroom that doing business with him is a "sure thing" profit-generator.
What he's too dumb to realize is that the world stage is not a NYC boardroom, and Putin isn't just another "mark" to be fooled into doing business with an idiot and known failure.

(51,560 posts)How many people have said that in the past two years and it is the key factor.
Tillerson said, "He's a fucking moron", Kelly said, "He's an idiot", etc. Being a malignant narcissist must be nice...you get to live in a make believe world where you are superior and untouchable, and you believe Putin is impressed with your magnificence. He is in for a hard fall, perhaps out of a window from tRump Tower.

(33,234 posts)Trump is definitely ignorant -- he's demonstrated that over and over -- but we need to not underestimate him. He's shown cunning and viciousness that makes him especially dangerous when he's scared and enraged. Either he goes over the edge to complete mental meltdown, or he takes us over the edge to destruction.

(15,168 posts)Actually, I've worked with them and other rodents/species and I can say that rats are quite good at figuring out the optimal solution given their known constraints.
Maybe what's happening here is that trump doesn't understand his constraints, let alone having the brain power to figure out optimal solutions.

(51,560 posts)I was told by a pest control guy that they ARE very smart and they learn really fast. He told me that they know where food is after just one visit. He also said they are a lot smarter than people give them credit for. Therefore rats are smarter than the moron. He is basically more dangerous since he is so dumb.

(13,565 posts)I believe Putin is going to order him to act in ways that will produce chaos in America in the next two weeks.
A crisis having to do with separation of powers.
Because today he took two dictatorial actions of that ilk.

(5,810 posts)every day. In order to deliver to Putin, he has to do and say some drastic things. Makes me wonder if there isnt a deal in the works to whisk tRump and his thug family members away from the American justice system in the nick of time, while fulfilling Putins wish list. If I were writing a novel, this is the plot Id flesh out.
If this is anywhere close to what happens, I want the Magahats to explain this. What I would give to see the expression on their faces.

Internet? Gone unless you belong to the ruling elite

Human rights, banking systems, education, health care? Maybe in the next world.

(53,410 posts)Although I think Trump is too deluded to think he wont get away with all of it. He is a true believer in his own superiority, his own gut, his superior genius to consider that hes beaten. He still believes hes winning. His power of self persuasion seems to be immense. We can still see him smirk at times.
This could slow him down somewhat.
Then maybe hes just assuring he can self exile to a Putin friendly country to avoid prosecution.

(2,417 posts)He's got so many shoes that are about to fall, there is no way he will escape being a squashed roach if he and his family stay in this country. Between the state and federal investigations, his empire crumbles whether he stays here or not and his freedom is gone no matter what. The question is, will he find himself and his family under the rule of prison guards here or under the control of Putin in Russia. He's done. He's doing everything Putin tells him to in hopes he'll get a better deal there. He should be removed from office before he destroys what's left of democracy.

(81,085 posts)I start wondering if the REAL reason he may so ardently want a trump Tower Moscow is because he wants a luxury hideout in case he gets in legal trouble in the U.S. He probably assumes his good ol patron, Vladimir, will shelter him over there if things sour for him here.
I still strongly suspect that when the shit really starts hitting the fan, hell try to bug out under cover of darkness, some night maybe in the coming year. If I were running a newsroom in either Washington DC or near Mar-a-Lago, I think Id be tempted to make plans for a stakeout. Keep an eye open for unscheduled helicopter landings and takeoffs to and from the grounds.
From Mar-a-Lago one could presumably fly to Guantanamo or maybe some Caribbean island, from which one could then fly to South America or Eastern Europe or even Moscow. I suspect there could soon be secret negotiations either involving Jared or Junior (and Gums) or Ivanka, or even the donald himself, with one of his new dictator pals, for a safe haven. Turkey? The Philippines? Ecuador (hey, that angle has worked pretty sweetly for Julian Assange), Russia? Slovenia where his latest wife is from? I suspect hed hit up alternatives to Moscow to hedge his bets in case Putin turns nasty on him.
I cant help it. My mind always starts wandering over toward a scenario like this.
