BREAKING HERE: the Wall for the Gateway Tunnel? Top source tells key group of House Repubs want GOP to make offer to Dems - they agree to wall money and WH/GOP funds Gateway. (Key project for Schumer and Dems in New York.)

Obviously v v fluid now, but this is serious idea.

And people lose their properties vis eminent domain?

Some things are more important, aren't they?

Very clever to offer funding for Schumer's pet project.

And doesn't the GOP have a majority until Jan 3? So why do they need Dem votes - oh, wait: a lot of the GOP members have left already and Ryan has the leadership qualities of a dead hamster.

A fast-tracked pathway to citizenship for all undocumented people in the country. This cannot be ties to any progress marks for the wall.

The wall will be held up in the courts forever. The environmental impacts would be fought for a long time. Much of the wall would go against federal and state legislation.

That would be the risk I am willing to take. It would give us time to de-fund the wall over the years. With all of the stories of it running over costs in the small areas it is being built, the environmental impacts it will cause, it will benefit our message. And the Republican base would be furious at the "amnesty" aspect.
