He's beholden to his base....and they listen to Ann Coutler, Rush Limbaugh, etc.

I suspect Rush et. al. want the GOP to get thrown out of power. That's how they make their fortune, as opposition opinion talk. When they are in power, its hard to do that. Can only harp on previous administrations so much before everyone eventually tires of it.

They know the wall won't ever get built, nor will it be effective, but, its a talking point they can use to bang the drum and tell the base to row. And row they will.
