Mattis’ resignation letter makes it clear.

“My views on treating allies with respect and also being clear eyed about both malign actors and strategic competitors are strongly held and informed by over four decades of immersion in these issues.”

@NancyPelosi @SenMajLdr This will cause a huge market reaction tomorrow....this should be considered. Perhaps not opening it is a good option. Mattis has basically stated Trump has aligned himself with Russia and abandoned his allies. It is time for #impeachment

Gen.Mattis has served our nation with great distinction. He will not be easy to replace.

For the sake of our national security I hope his decision to resign was motivated solely by a desire to enjoy a well deserved retirement.

Just read Gen. Mattis resignation letter. It makes it abundantly clear that we are headed towards a series of grave policy errors which will endanger our nation, damage our alliances & empower our adversaries. 1/2

I hope we who have supported this administrations initiatives over the last two years can persuade the President to choose a different direction. But we must also fulfill our constitutional duty to conduct oversight over the policies of the executive branch. 2/2

so assuming he gets to re-up on there, let's see if that actually happens, although it will undoubtedly be for show.

I remember the images of the clown car with 16? dumb-asses careening down the street. I don't remember a single one of them being a person that I could have a normal conversation with. Politicians all, money grubbers all, grifters all.

And we ended up with the bottom of this horrible barrel.

Russia, Turkey, Saudi Arabia seem to have more influence on the POTUS than the Secretary of Defense, Joint Chiefs of Staff, Congress, and the citizens of the U.S.

But, Dirty Donald gets to tell armed forces families that he gave them a Christmas present.
