Trump Plunges Washington into Chaos: Mattis Resigns, Shutdown Looms, Market Dives................................
It is only going to get worse. Two weeks before the new DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS takes power. He is terrified. A cornered animal is capable of anything. Brace yourselves.

As long as the End Times Cabal doesn't plunge us into oblivion.

(6,679 posts)When it comes to the military I actually have the tiniest sliver of hope. The Generals have told DJT to go fuck himself more than once.

(19,558 posts)I didn't see this coming, if I'm being honest. This is a diplomatic disaster.
I'm of a mind he caved to Erdogan to bury Kusher's involvement with MBS in regards to Khashoggi.
Think on that. If this is reality, he gave a green light to kill our allies to save one of his own. Even if this isn't the reason, no one in the Middle East will trust us as allies again after this move. Which we deserve.

(19,558 posts)I'm not trying to outdo my other fellow cynics, I assure you.
I probably spend too much time thinking about all the things taking place, and attempting to connect the dots. Since no one is paying me to do so, I'm pretty sure it's not a healthy hobby and I don't recommend it.

(13,565 posts)I do it too. It's my natural instinct to try to make sense of a scenario.

(19,558 posts)Some of us can't help but do so, but (and this is a big but) under this administration things I used to disregard as a fools folly are now plausible. Followed all of this in-depth can be draining if a person doesn't have a strong support network.
When I read Trump spoke with Erdogan a couple of days before this decision, my mind started working through the possibilities of what that may mean? The obvious one I came up with wasn't pleasant.
No matter what, Trump is a fool with no concept of geopolitical fallout.

(10,823 posts)faced accountability for his own actions. Never. He's played the con and grift his entire life but now he's cornered. And he knows it. Cornered animals are indeed dangerous as you point out, sheshe. I think Trumpski is the sort of man who would try his best to bring the entire country down with him. Out of pure spite.
We need to take Rachael Maddow's advice: Stay sober and keep your laces tied.
Because this is going to get worse before it gets better.

(58,785 posts)though, as well as personality-disordered and prone to vicious rages. He's unpredictable and could end up caving as suddenly as he seemingly did to Turkey just now. Withdrawals are not yet scheduled and conceivably might not happen...
Speaking of caving, his two big actions benefit Russia enormously. Wondering when were they first planned and with whom?
