Trump supporters know theres an investigation accusing Trump of collusion with Russia by a guy named Mueller. But they also know: theres no such crime as collusion. So whats the point of the investigation? Beyond that, they dont know ANY of the details. Manafort who? Mike Flynn? Michael The Rat Cohen maybe (now). If theyve even heard of George Papadopoulis or Maria Butina, Id be stunned. They are SO uninformed, they are going to be overwhelmed by the tidal wave of criminal investigations thatll hit them next year. And because they are already convinced Trump is the most successful president since Ronald Reagan (if you believe everything Trump says), its all going to seem like a litany of fabricated scandals invented by Democrats desperate to derail Trumps amazingly successful presidency.
No one is out there preparing them for whats coming. And anytime you dump a truckload of anything on someone whos not prepared for it, the backlash is going to be angry, extreme (and considering the demographic) violent.
Prepare.

(31,506 posts)but I'm constantly surprised by the people I know who have strong opinions on subjects they know absolutely nothing about. What's worse is that they're not interested in knowing more. I guess ignorance truly is bliss.

(25,908 posts)That is what I expect from the deplorables when the merde hits the fan. A few may act out, but I don't expect many more than we've endured already.

(22,065 posts)all have heard of other crimes being done in the past by others in the past (really blatant and horrible in nature) and folks didn't 'lash' out but instead were usually surprised that such and such a person did such and such (such as an abuser of boys in a college program in Penns.).
It'll be the same way w/ rump and family and cronies. Massive protests haven't been the norm in the streets when any of rump's cohorts have been taken down (where are all of the repugs protesting when this has happened, multiple times?).
I think when it does happen, the reality will finally be driven home into these so called rump fanatics by the droves. As each nail is driven in, bit by bit, a wave of fanatics will disappear, finally because simply of the evidence at hand.

(2,990 posts)The Orange One's core is largely rural - he's lost the cities and suburbs, by and large. There won't be mobs rampaging through the streets - there won't be streets with enough stuff worth destroying where the "mobs" might assemble.
I'm more concerned about individual red hatters sending out mail bombs, or trying to assassinate Democratic leaders (or Republicans viewed as sellouts), or things like that. And I really do worry about this.

You need to push the envelope with these rubes. Tell the alleged pro-lifers (woman haters) that when health care is taken from 24 million working-class Americans, adults and actual children are being aborted. Knock them over the head with your words and ideas.
We aren't the 1970s liberals like Alan Alda and Phil Donahue "Give everyone a hug and we'll all get along"-types. After the Dubya second-place victory in 2000 and this recent one, we're more militant--more mouthy--and more pissed. And we're definitely more intelligent than these banjo-loving mouth breathers who believe every lie the orange mob boss can conceive.
BTW, a good bumper sticker would be "Don't blame me, I voted with the majority." (my own idea, but please use it if you can) It might get the neo-Confederates to think, if possible.

(6,448 posts)You could tell the Trumpanzee that because of the layoffs of over 14,000 GM workers and the furlough of tens of thousands of federal employees due to the shutdown, Trump is waging a one-man "War On Christmas".
