The one flaw in the argument that Trump admitting he caused the shutdown...

...will mean the overall consensus of the American people, including most Republicans, will hold him to blame for the shutdown is....

...Trump has a long history of making damning admissions, only to then deny ever making them and claiming the opposite.

Remember how he admitted to Lester Holt on national TV how he fired Jim Comey only to later deny that Russia had anything to do with his firing Comey?

However, this is lots of tape and lots of newspapers showing he said he'd own it so he will. Yes, the Faux snooze arm of his political machine will promote his lie as the truth, but for something like this that got so much exposure last week, they and he will LOSE.
Americans will not support the shutdown for an ineffective wall when it hits their or their family or friends hard.
