Not one penny for the Wall unless it is part of bill that provides a path to citizenship for all undocumented workers who can prove they have been in the United States for an amount of time to be determined and have no criminal record.
Then he can have his Wall that we can laugh at. At the rate Trump is going we will have to build a Wall to keep people in.

(11,855 posts)Give us the Dreamers and we'll fund the bullshit wall that will never be built in any meaningful way. The lawsuits over eminent domain alone will last a decade.
The Democrats can strip that funding right back out of the budget next year.

(99,710 posts)I am in favor of a humane and orderly immigration system which includes a path to citizenship for the eleven million undocumented workers and their families who are already here and a system that ensures we don't find ourselves in this predicament again.

(53,771 posts)crashes and prices jump. It's a HUGE issue. We initially got strong as a nation with the free labor of enslaved people. Now at the bottom of the scale are undocumented workers picking crops, working in meat processing plants, restaurants, doing our gardens, watching our kids even, in the construction trades and a myriad of other fields.
There has to be a sea change of attitudes and our policies and a move towards democratic socialism and away from exploitative capitalism to even begin to get a grip on fixing it.
A dumb bumbler like trump being in the WH and making impulsive, stupid moves is not the one to begin to fix it.

(99,710 posts)It would be like somebody squatting on a piece of farm land you own. You drive by it every day and see the squatters taking good care of it and don't stake your claim. Years later you decide you want it back. Where are the equities? We enjoyed their cheap labor, made them part of the culture, and now want to send them home. It doesn't seem right.

Their motto should be "All for me and none for Thee."

Trouble is, it is hard to get Trump and his Republicans to swallow the hook of the wall without baiting it with a "victory" their base won't let them pass up. We almost have to hand Trump a "victory" to force him to swallow the hook. He doesn't really want a wall. He wants an issue.

(11,949 posts)In exchange for a legal path to quick citizenship for the dreamers. Put both in a big bill.
And watch the republicans quickly reject the deal. Because the base of their party does not want even one more brown person to be a citizen. Allowing dreamers to stay would be seen as a sellout.
