Why I Oppose Bashing Democratic Leaders

Last edited Sat Dec 22, 2018, 01:50 PM - Edit history (1)

I was a volunteer leader for 5 years. I gave a lot of time for the betterment of the community. Maybe, on a good election day 30% of the community even bothered to vote and I could easily secure enough votes to win simply by putting in some effort to garner support. I took on a project that absolutely had to be done. I had no design skills and really played no part in the design. My role was to get it done on time and within budget and it was done early and below budget. Yes there were parts that were done on the cheap, because we had a budget. I deliberated, kept everyone informed, and the things that were cheap were things that could be upgraded in the future. On the whole the project was a huge upgrade and remains today some 20 years later as an improvement.

People who never lifted a finger came out of the woodwork to smear me and lie about me in much the same way as I hear people talk of the DNC. I get people telling me that I should go into politics. Right, like I need that? Like I need phony stories about financial transactions I have been involved in, murdering 30 people, running a child porn ring out of a pizza parlor, or ginned up accusations about Benghazi or my email?

Nope.

But I will give our Democratic leaders a wide berth. They are performing an important service and I am unwilling to put myself in their shoes. I appreciate what they do and I will not participate in, and I oppose, unfounded accusations. I believe that wide berth is fitting, proper, and morally appropriate. And the rabble who rise up out of some misguided emotional crap disgust me.
