There is no trump suit in Rummy, and the Ace counts for only one point. Face cards count for 10 points each.

His Nobs only counts for one point in cribbage. Not very significant.

In Bridge or Whist, the Ace of Trumps is the strongest card.

I might compare Trump to the Queen of Spades in the game of Hearts, where the winner is the player with the lowest score. You lose 13 points if you take the Queen of Spades, but if you start with it you usually have an advantage if you dispose of her cleverly. On the other hand, if you take successfully Shoot for the Moon and take all the hearts and the Queen of Spades, you get zero points while every other player gets 26.

If Trump is the Ace of Trumps in a game of Rummy he is a unicorn. If he is His Nobs in a game of Cribbage (a longtime favorite since I first learned the game on wilderness canoe trips in northern Ontario and Quebec), he is an impoverished nobody. Just sayin'.
