Trump reportedly wants to fire Fed chair, a move that could wreak havoc on the financial markets

President Donald Trump wants to fire Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell for raising interest rates, according to a report, an unprecedented action by a president against the independent body, that could undermine confidence in the U.S. financial system already under the strain of a vicious equity sell-off.

Trump has discussed firing Powell privately because of his frustration with stock market losses in recent months, according to Bloomberg News, which cited four people familiar with the situation. The president's frustration intensified in recent days, with him discussing the firing "many times" during that time, according to the report.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 7 percent this week, its worst week in 10 years, on fears the Fed is unnecessarily slowing the economy as the central bank on Wednesday raised its benchmark interest rate for a fourth time this year. The Dow, which Trump cheered when it was at record highs earlier this year, is now down 9 percent in 2018.

Supply side economics doesn’t work. Combine that with stupid tariffs and it’s a recipe for disaster.

Each and every firing and resignation only serves to show your incapacity to govern and total incompetence.

Also, it weakens you, rendering you more of a rotten orange on a post, daily.

Yes, it causes turbulence and chaos... However, society is an interlocking interdependent network of interactions and the thing about networks is eventually they find a way to route around damage... Like, you.

If they hadn't been covering for Trump's malfeasance, incompetence, and utter disregard for anything other than his bed wetting ego. A wider recognition of the crisis he is causing would have been achieved earlier and maybe something would have been forced to happen.

But, the ruse continued. And, will continue until it's undeniable to even the most uninformed abstainer from the real world.

He knows the end is coming. He actually wants to be impeached and removed. He can then play the victim and hopes he can save his "empire." He might think the law will just walk away and leave him alone. As it stands he and businesses are at risk of public exposure bit by bit. It's driving him nuts - okay more nuts.

Trump takes bad news personally, being a narcissist. Why is it so hard to believe he wants to fire Powell?

That's his intentions to do it for Putin , and to keep him from exposing him. That or he's crazy, or both.

Turn him onto a Newt already. They'll then have to fight to the death for supremacy, and whoever dies, we win. We can only hope they both suffer fatal wounds.

that will get Mitch's attention, quick, fast, and in a hurry, whereas he couldn't be bothered with passing legislation to save Mueller. My guess is that they are like many of us who have seen our 401k accounts going to hell and back under Trump's shenanigans with imposing tariffs on our neighbors to the north and the south and the far east, etc. I don't think Mitch will stand by and watch Trump screw with the Fed Chairman and watch everyone's accounts going into a freefalling nose dive.
