What Will It Take for Hannity and Limbaugh to the End the Shutdown? That is the Key

The one thing that Trump cannot afford is to take fire from the right. He will always try to be on the extreme right so that he can keep his core racist base happy. And, they hate minorities, and want a wall. So, the real key is at what point do Hannity and Trump feel there is a need to cut a deal and give Trump cover to accept a deal.

Or, ultimately, will Democrats have to give in after a few weeks of a shut down, because Trump/Hannity/Limbaugh have nothing to lose with a shutdown?

In other words, it is a mistake to assume that some adult in the room is going to remind Trump of the harm being done to most Americans. The only thing that Trump is concerned with is the 30 percent of his hardcore supporters. They may be willing to sacrifice everything given their hate of Brown people, which fanned daily by Hannity, Limbaugh, etc.

Perhaps he will demand that all investigations end in return for signing a bill to lift the debt limit.

...and there especially won’t be in two weeks, when we have control of the House.

And Trump doesn’t have “nothing to lose from a shutdown.” Sure, he may endear himself to his diehard base, but he’ll be losing support from everyone else the longer this goes on, especially if it’s seen as being due to his unwillingness to compromise over the border wall. And there’s no way he gets re-elected, if all he has is his diehard base.

This is about survival. The only thing that keeps Republicans in line is the idea that they would never make it past the primaries if they support any effort to hold Trump accountable. Don't you think that Ted Cruz is just waiting for Trump to fold, so that Cruz can grandstand about how Cruz would never have given in?

Trump is not going to get re-elected if he gets impeached because his base became disillusioned with him.

Either Trump or the Democrats will receive a crushing defeat. I can't see any face-saving compromise here. Either we win or they do. I hope it's us.

Lets so both sides decide not to blink. This just means that the country goes to hell. The problem with Trump is that he is a nihilist. He does not care about the country. He just cares about himself and his ego gets a boost from catering to his rabid racist base. Thus, it does not really matter if the country goes to hell. Indeed, he actually may benefit from it.

...by Trump, particularly with respect to the debt limit. Trump needs to be stopped now. It is better to have this fight with the shutdown, rather than with the debt limit.

The shutdown only gives the more ammo to feed their braindead audience. They love it when trump is being an asshole!
