There are plenty of wealthy Repubs such as Kochs willing to pay him to continue promoting deregulation, more tax cuts for the rich while cutting Social Security and "entitlements".

including his Econ prof. He did not go to the diverse and challenging excellent U of Wisconsin and instead chose the private Miami U in Ohio, basically a preppie extension of white suburbia, although with a decent rep academically. That, coupled with being enthralled by Ayn Rand who validated his nativism at a young age qualified him as an "intellectual" in the intellectually bankrupt GOP. They nurtured and lauded him as the Next Great Thing without wanting to recognize his shallow grip on what really makes us great. He lapped it up and power and money ensued to this seeming "nice young man" from "nice" Wisconsin.

Now his hypocrisy and the brutal truth is revealed to more than those of us Wisconsinites.

He is a fraud, yet his earnest persona belies that fact to those who do not choose to see the truth.

3. They want to kill Social Security but keep collecting the SS taxes.

It really kills these people to think of those payroll taxes going for Social Security and Medicare. They think poor people owe them something just for being allowed to live, and that poor people are spoiled nowadays and should be paying something to their "benefactors," much as the medieval serfs paid rents and taxes to their lords and ladies. I am sure their end goal is to keep the payroll taxes in place but divert them all straight into the general fund.
