I really like it. have liked Miley since her Hannah Montana days - what a voice she has now.

(2,857 posts)I really can not stand her. One shock n awe outfit after another and I'm done with her. She gets zip of my money or listening time. Sorry.

(6,810 posts)I wonder, do you take the same position on every female artist that has done "shock-and-awe" bits to varying levels of jarring in their careers? Madonna (I remember the late 80s early 90s, do you? Does Madonna? Does anyone who was around Madonna at the time?), Janet Jackson, Beyoncé, Britney Spears, Pink, Lady Gaga (literally the queen of outlandish outfits, sit down Miley lol), Whitney Houston (well, less shock-and-awe and more crack) the list goes on forever. Switching skins from Good Girl/Boy to Bad Girl/Boy and everything in-between has been in the entertainment industry longer than she's been alive. Miley isn't that original.
Like any musician, some of her music is good, some is not. And everything is shtick for the stage. Pour yourself a smooth drink, relax, and either watch the skit or don't. It'd be one thing if she ate live puppies while masturbating to a picture of Hitler, but hating on Miley for no good reason is not a good use of your time or energy.
(Note: This whole post was meant to be light-hearted if a little crude at times. Just laugh.)
Edit: If you do decide to watch, set your expectations low. It's a musical skit for a late night talk show. We aren't dealing with Grammy material here...

(4,492 posts)Once she grew out of her "Hannah Does Montana" days where she'd touch herself on stage with a foam finger (the sporting event type) and twerk all over the place.
Her voice has also grown. I enjoyed this and I hope she continues to be an outspoken feminist.
